Hello, and welcome. My name is Dr. Basheer Al-haimi, and I currently serve as a senior lecturer at the Azman Hashim International Business School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
I was born on April 2, 1988, in Yemen. From the earliest stages of my academic journey, I consistently achieved First-Class Honors at every level—primary, secondary, high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate. This track record reflects my lifelong commitment to learning, leadership, and personal growth.
My higher education path began at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), where I earned a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Software Engineering in 2012 and an M.Sc. (Hons.) in IT Management in 2013. In 2019, I completed my Ph.D. in Technology Management (Strategies and Governance) at University Malaysia Pahang. My doctoral research focused on "Strategies in Building World-Class Universities in Yemen with Specific Reference to the Malaysian Experience" — a topic that reflects my enduring passion for higher education development, strategies, and innovation.
At AHIBS–UTM, I focus on nurturing future leaders, advancing research, and building cross-border academic collaborations.
My academic and professional contributions include:
- Research & Publications: Authored/co-authored over 30 scholarly works (including ISI Q1 and Scopus-indexed articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings); recipient of Best Paper Awards at international conferences.
- Supervision: Currently supervising over 25 PhD/DBA candidates and 25 Master’s students in areas such as technology management, digital transformation, higher education strategies, and governance.
- Conferences & Keynotes: Presented at more than 15 international conferences and delivered keynote speeches in Malaysia, India, Yemen, and Singapore.
- Coaching & Training: Trainer in strategies, digital marketing, leadership & negotiation, teaching methods, business communication, case study writing, and AI in education & organizations.
- Leadership: Early leadership experience through international student societies during undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
I believe that education is a powerful driver of change. Teaching and research, to me, are opportunities to inspire, empower, and shape future leaders. I thrive on innovation, continuous learning, and building bridges across cultures to create meaningful academic and professional impact.
